The Stellantis group is already making final adjustments to the future seven-seat SUV from Citroën. A unit was spotted this week on the Bandeirantes highway, in Santa Bárbara d’Oeste (inland São Paulo).
The car was quite camouflaged, but it was clear that the dimensions are much larger than those of the national compact C3, which is 3.98 meters long. The new model will also be built in Porto Real (RJ).
The extended rear will accommodate the built-in seats in the trunk. There is an impression that the wheelbase has more than the 2.54 meters of the “smaller brother”.
Seen from the side, you can see that there is a third window, an item absent in C3. The distance between the tank door and the taillight is much greater than what is seen in the hatchback.
Already the headlights appear to be the same, although the stickers made it difficult to identify. To differentiate them, Citroën will place an exclusive front bumper for the new model, a strategy similar to that adopted by Fiat in the Pulse and Fastback lines.
The project, named CC24, should hit stores in the second half. The official name has not yet been defined, but it is already possible to deduce which engines and transmissions will be used.
The most affordable options will be equipped with the 1.6 16v flex (120 hp) in versions with manual or automatic gearbox. At the top of the line will be the 1.0 turbo flex (130 hp) already used in models of the Fiat line – and always associated with the CVT exchange, which simulates seven gears.
It is likely that the new Citroën will also have options with five seats, which should open up more space in the trunk. It is the same strategy adopted by Chevrolet with the Spin minivan, which costs between R$ 101,650 and R$ 132,950.
In addition to the CC24, the French brand is preparing another national product built on the CMP base (compact modular platform). It will be a sedan, which hits the market in 2024.
