Show is the fourth episode of the “Legados Series”, at Teatro da Instacção
Manaus (AM) – The origins and influence of Caribbean and Brazilian genres on contemporary Jazz will be addressed in the fourth episode of the “Legados Series”, which is being carried out by the Amazonas Band. The show will take place this Wednesday (08), at 7pm, at Teatro da Instacção, located on Rua Frei José dos Inocentes, s/nº, in the Centro neighborhood – Zona Sul of Manaus. Entry is free.
An event held by the Government of Amazonas, through the State Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy of Amazonas, the “Legados Series” is created and directed by conductor Rui Carvalho and presented by the Amazonas Band. The show will be held in a dialogue format with the public, where Jazz instruments, rhythms, authors and arrangers will be presented. Furthermore, the public will be able to interact with questions, which will be answered by Rui Carvalho and members of the band.
“Jazz culture is the result of organic social movements, which enriches our views and research on the topic. So, the proposal is to share this knowledge with the public, in a simple way, and along with lots of music”,
it says.
The repertoire will include the following songs: “Happy Song”, by Bob Mintzer; “Berimbau”, by Vinicius de Moraes and Baden Powell, with arrangements by Bob Mintzer; “Desafinado”, by Tom Jobim, with arrangements by Frank Mantooth; “In the 80’s”, by Bob Mintzer; “Miami Spice”, by Victor López; “The Mighty Urubamba”, by Daniel Barry; and “Latin Import”, by John Fedchock.
