The rave took place near the border with the Gaza Strip and was one of the main targets of Hamas terrorists, who attacked the neighboring country on Saturday (7). All my prayers for the missing, for the people of the region who are victims of this war and for the family members who are facing a lot of pain at this time,” she wrote. Ekanta Jake was one of the creators of ‘Universo Paralello’ alongside her ex-husband, Juarez Petrillo – DJ Swarup – current owner of the festival. Today she still works at the company that organizes the event, being responsible for putting together the line-up and choosing the artists who will participate in the events, which usually take place at the end of the year on Pratigi beach, in Ituberá (see below). In the Mexico and Spain editions, Ekanta Jake herself was one of the event’s attractions. “Music has always provided me with incredible moments of unity, love, happiness and positivity. All my prayers for the missing, for the people of the region who are victims of this war and for the families who are facing a lot of pain at this time. The festival has already taken place in countries such as India, in 2015, and France, in 2016, and between 2022 and 2023, editions were held in Argentina, Spain, Portugal, Thailand and Mexico. Upon returning to Brazil, Ekanta held her first party under the name ‘Universo Paralello’, in Rio de Janeiro, in October 1998, which was later taken to Goiás by her ex-husband, in 2000, where it was organized at Fazenda Água Fria , in Chapada dos Veadeiros. “The name Universo Paralello came from a friend of ours, who was best man at our wedding: Silvinho Romano. He had a farm in Goiás and his dream was to create a festival. He had a dream of creating a festival that featured music, gastronomy, fashion and performance. And that name came from him. He passed away and Juarez continued with the name. And we always carried that name”, he told the Time do Talk channel.
