The Argentine low-cost airline Flybondi announced this Wednesday (29) a type of air ticket in which the passenger has total flexibility, even changing his name to someone else.
In partnership with Travelex, Flybondi launched the so-called Ticket 3.0, which is the evolution of airfare, according to the airline’s CEO, Mauricio Sana, in a conference with the Latin American press.
“In the past you bought a ticket on paper, which came without your name written, you wrote it later, as it is on the bus, but time has evolved and this has become something fixed, that you buy the ticket just to fly, not just one ticket for a flight,” said Sana.
Today, airline tickets, as a rule, are non-transferable, always incurring fees to change ownership or even the impossibility of doing so. Flybondi promises to break this paradigm with Ticket 3.0, which intends to become an industry standard in the future.
The idea is for the passenger to buy the ticket for the flight, but if he wants to change any personal data, give it as a gift, transfer it to a family member or friend, he can do it in a simple way and without extra costs.
“The passenger is the owner of his ticket, not the airline”, said to Aeroin, the CEO of Flybondi, when disclosing that Ticket 3.0 is “the best airline ticket in the world”.
For name correction or change of ownership, a small fee of up to 700 Argentine pesos (R$17) per transfer will be charged, depending on the rate chosen in the original purchase, always limited to 5% of the total value of the ticket.
The only limitation is that changes must be made within 48 hours before the flight.
The novelty for now is only available for domestic flights, but the company will implement it in the coming weeks for international flights, including to Brazil. It is worth mentioning that the novelty works for all types of ticket, regardless of the fare, becoming a standard in the company.
