The band Coldplay is back in Brazil for yet another tour and, in addition to lavishing sympathy in their performances, they also act without stardom offstage. At shows, lead singer Chris Martin has already called a fan to sing along with the group. But while strolling around the capital of São Paulo, he also honored university students who played drums in Ibirapura Park. Check below moments in which Chris conquered even more the Brazilian public for his simplicity:
Accompanying university students’ drumming rehearsal
Last Sunday (12), a video with Chris Martin went viral on social media. The singer was strolling through Ibirapuera Park, in São Paulo, when he came across the drums at the USP Faculty of Law and stopped to watch, honoring the students, who were surprised and took pictures.
Calling a fan to play ‘Gravity’ on piano
During the show on Saturday (11), in São Paulo, the band also went viral for calling publicist Gabriel Lucena, 26, to play the piano alongside the vocalist. The fan left his city, Brasilia, to see the show and took a poster asking if he could play the song “Gravity”.
Thanking the public in Portuguese
On the same night, the singer made a point of learning a little Portuguese to talk to fans throughout his performance.
“We are very happy to be here with you. Thank you very much for the effort of being here, even with the rain, with the traffic and all the other problems”, he said.
In addition to the thanks, at another point in the show, the artist used the slang “total firmness?” to ask if everyone was okay.
Singing ‘Let Somebody Go’ alongside a fan
A day earlier, at the debut of the band’s tour in Brazil, which took place at Estádio do Morumbi (SP), Chris Martin also took a fan to the stage. This time, it was the Brazilian singer Anália Guedes who had the opportunity to sing the song ‘Let Somebody Go’ alongside her idol. The artist has more than 3,000 followers on Instagram and has already released her first single.
Enjoying samba circles in Ipanema
Before starting the current tour, the British band was present in Brazil for their show at Rock in Rio, in September 2022. At the same time, the singer was seen from Ipanema beach, barefoot, in a sweatshirt and cap, enjoying the ” Roda de Ska”, which played a song by the group “Paralamas do Sucesso” at a kiosk.
