First ‘Largo New Year’s Eve’ celebrates 127 years of Teatro Amazonas and will have 10 hours of music

Manaus (AM) – ‘Largo’s New Year’s Eve’ enters the State Government’s calendar of events and welcomes 2024, also celebrating 127 years of Teatro Amazonas. On Sunday (31), for the first time Largo de São Sebastião will have musical attractions, pyrotechnic shows, a countdown to New Year’s Eve and a structure that promises great surprises.

The event is a sum of efforts from the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, other departments and state bodies. More than 100 artists are expected to be involved, who will take turns on the stage, which will be set up on Rua José Clemente, next to Teatro Amazonas. More than 10 attractions will perform from 6pm to 4am, playing different rhythms, including samba, pagode and boi-bumbá.

Big screens will be spread around Largo de São Sebastião, allowing audiences from different points to watch both the shows and the countdown, with the century-old Teatro Amazonas as a backdrop.

The preparations for the celebration of the party were defined this Saturday (23), in a technical visit by the head of Culture, Marcos Apolo Muniz, accompanied by the executive secretary Cândido Jeremias, in addition to the sound, lighting, structure and stage teams.

“The Government of Amazonas holds the first New Year’s Eve at Largo de São Sebastião and the anniversary of our Teatro Amazonas, in this environment, which is already loved by the family, people come here to honor the events that take place here. The Largo will also have Christmas decorations, a nativity scene so that people can come and enjoy their New Year’s Eve safely, enjoying good artistic attractions”,

said the secretary.

Apolo also points out that the commitment to creating a great, safe celebration for the population requires the collaboration of key institutions for the safety and well-being of everyone. “An entire security apparatus, Firefighters, Detran, State Department of Justice (Sejusc), paying attention to people who need special attention, children and young people, the Department of Health, everyone is involved so that we can have a beautiful New Year’s Eve “, ends.

Largo’s New Year’s Eve will be divided into four blocks: the “Bloco da Alegria” (6pm to 9pm), with children’s attractions, circus, musical theater and entertainment; the “Opening Block” (9pm to 11pm), musical attractions; the long-awaited “Bloco da Virada” (11pm to 1am), also with musical shows, and the “Bloco Pós Virada” (1am to 4am) with more music starting in the early hours of the morning.

Despite the party, Christmas decorations will continue in Largo, including the Christmas Tree and the nativity scene exhibition, Casa das Artes, until January 6th.
