Anyone who was paying attention to a conversation between Antonio Cara de Sapato and his colleagues confined to the “BBB 23” gym was curious when the fighter quoted a rival in the rings (and in life), saying that he wanted to “beat that kid”. It is Paulo Costa Borrachinha, also an athlete, brother’s disaffection. Before reality, Cara de Sapato and Borrachinha lived together. “Many people don’t know how it started. I was training there in Salvador and he went to train there too, with Professor Rubens Dória. And we helped each other. Cara de Sapato even used to defend Borrachinha, according to him, when the rest of the participants said he was dangerous, fake and a badass. “Inside the house, he made an enmity with Geral. And I’m a guy without vanity. In competitions you’ll donate 100%, in training you’re there to take risks, learn and such. guy just made unnecessary, ridiculous comments”.

The rivalry grew and the friendship disappeared between Cara de Sapato and Borrachinha. “When the guy is like a dog, he’s like a dog, it’s no use. Borrachinha’s case. When I found out what he had said, I went to talk to him: “My brother, what the fuck is this? I’m defending you and you do this? So stay there alone,” he said.

A short time later, the two were already in the UFC, another bullshit. Borrachinha was second in the category and was looking for the Belt. Sapato Face was in a very complicated phase. “I came from several injuries, I was in a bad phase, and he was up there in his category. Then he goes and says some shit…”, began Cara de Sapato.

What Borrachinha said during an interview was that he thought Cara de Sapato would be fired from the UFC, which in fact happened months later. “But, like, the guy loved me, right?! To be worried about me like that… And when I asked him to fight, he didn’t go. I don’t like him myself, I wouldn’t have any problem fighting him. No I’m one to create a situation. I like to make friends, to review, I’m not the guy to make a fuss. But my saint doesn’t match his, he’s really 171”, he shot. The next round of this fight won’t happen until Cara de Sapato leaves “BBB 23”.
