Film producer based in Amazonas Jean Robert César dies at age 55

Manaus (AM) – Film director and producer Jean Robert César passed away, aged 55, on Thursday night (19).
Jean had been battling bone cancer for over seven years. Born in Rio de Janeiro, the director created roots in Manaus, where he lived for 21 years.
In the professional field, Jean Robert gathered more than three decades of experience, producing soap operas, journalistic articles, miniseries, feature films and documentaries, which stood out on the national and international scene. Last year, he signed the production of the exhibition “1st Festival Norte de Cinema Brasileiro”, at the Museum of Image and Sound, at the Provincial Palace, in addition to producing the gold edition of the DVD of “125 years of Teatro Amazonas”.
Among other outstanding works are the feature film “Le Jaguar” (1995), the miniseries “Mad Maria” (2004), “Amazônia, de Galvez a Chico Mendes” (2006), the short film “15 years of Opera” (2011) and the documentaries “Teatro Amazonas – Uma opera dans la jungle” (2003) and “Disposable Lives” (2018).
The wake of the director and cultural producer will be in the municipality of Itacoatiara, where the family of his wife Leny César lives, with whom he was married for 28 years.
