Manaus (AM) – With the arrival of the carnival season, many people are looking to purchase custom costumes and accessories to enjoy the festivities in character. With the great demand, several entrepreneurs see, through crafts, an opportunity to increase their income and gain visibility for their work.

This is the case of Rafaela Souza, artisan from Parintin and owner of Potyra Ateliê, who today makes a living from her work as an entrepreneur producing custom items for inside and outside the state of Amazonas.

“Through this work I was able to give opportunities to many people, especially women, and the more demand increases, the more people I hire for the team, especially at this time of carnival. This type of event generates jobs for us, increases our income”,

reported the professional.

Potyra Ateliê began in 2016, when Rafaela was invited to produce costumes for the Beija-flor Samba School, in Rio de Janeiro. For the entrepreneur, this was the starting point for her business to reach where it is today.

“Today I work not only with carnival, which was what opened the doors for me. In addition to the Parintins Festival, today I also work with costumes for theater, shows, and even for famous artists and singers. All thanks to carnival.”

In addition to economic activity, local entrepreneurship is responsible for promoting Amazonian culture, which is reflected in costumes and accessories. This is what Bruna Araújo, creator of Sianinha Decor, who has worked in the customization field for over four years, explains.

“The difference in craftsmanship is really delivering something exclusive and completely personalized to what the customer wants. I think this makes the demand so good and generates so much income for us”,

declared Bruna, who highlighted the importance of these events for small entrepreneurs, and the impact on the lives of people who completely depend on this income.

“Carnival, Christmas and Boi-bumbá are our production flagships during the year. We have had very positive feedback in these three seasons. Every year the demand becomes greater, both for orders and invitations to events. This year the market is very hot, and we, as a family company, are very happy with all this movement”,

he reiterated.
