Manaus (AM) – Teatro Amazonas brings together great national and international names in classical singing, this Wednesday (25), in the “XII Encontro de Tenores do Brasil”. The date marks the celebration of World Opera Day. On stage will be the Ukrainian, based in Italy, Vasyl Solodkyy, the Chilean Enrique Bravo, the São Paulo native Alan Faria, the Pará Wilken Silveira and the tenor from Amazonas, creator of the event, Miquéias William.

The show, which has the support of the State Government, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, will have the participation of the Amazonas Filarmônica, under the direction of guest conductor Miguel Campos Neto. Tickets on sale at the Teatro Amazonas box office and at www.shopingressos.com.br.

According to Miquéias, the “Encontro de Tenores” grows every year, always bringing the main names in classical singing to Manaus. Since last year, the organization of the event has maintained a partnership with the São Paulo Opera Company, which enables the participation of international tenors.

“In 2022, we brought the Spanish León de la Guardia, which was an important milestone for the Meeting”,

highlights the tenor, who also directs the show.

Miquéias adds that, for those who enjoy lyrical music, the “Encontro de Tenores” is a unique opportunity to listen to good music and discover the work of great artists in the segment. “For those who are not used to listening to this repertoire, it is also an unforgettable experience,” he said.

He adds that the repertoire is being carefully thought out so that the public is surprised and enchanted. “We will definitely have songs by German composer Richard Wagner. The song ‘O sole mio’, by Eduardo D. Capua, cannot be missing from the repertoire either,” he adds.

About the artists

Miquéias William, from Amazonas, began his music studies with professor Sueli Walcafre, and took a vocal technique course in Curitiba with Neyde Thomas and Rio Novello. He also had as teacher Professor Benito Maresca, who was one of the greatest tenors in Brazil. Miquéias is part of the Amazonas choir and has already taken part in major shows.

Ukrainian Vasyl Solodkyy began studying piano in his hometown, Termopil, as a child. In 2007, he moved to Rimini, Italy, where he began studying singing at the Santa Cecília School, under the guidance of Valeria Esposito.

Vasyl was a finalist in the Renata Tebaldi International Singing Competition in 2016. Last season he participated in prestigious productions such as Nabucco, Le siège de Corinthe and Der Fliegende Holländer.

Another highlight is Alan Faria, who began his studies in São Paulo, with the renowned musician Helly Anne Caran, with whom he continues to be mentored. He specialized in classical singing at the Accademia Della Voce Del Piemonte in Turin, Italy. He participated as a Brazilian representative in the important musical exchange festival between Brazil and Italy, called Fiato al Brasile, held in 2019. He also performed in other countries, such as Germany, Italy, Scotland, Canada, the United States and Paraguay. Since 2016 he has been a soloist with the Ribeirão Preto Symphony Orchestra. This year, with the production of the SP Opera Company, he played Turiddu, at Teatro Pedro Cardoso, in São Paulo, and Teatro Polytheama, in the city of Jundiaí, conducted by maestro Abel Rocha and general direction by Paulo Esper.

Currently, he is a tenor chorister and soloist with the Coro Estaável at Teatro Amazonas and a voice performer at the Academia de Ópera at Theatro São Pedro, in São Paulo.

The Chilean based in Manaus since 1978, Enrique Bravo, began his career in São Paulo, playing roles such as Dom José, from the opera Carmen, Camille de Rossillon, from the opera A Viúva Alegre and Tebaldo from I Capuleti and I Montecchi, by V. Bellini . In 2000 he was invited by maestro Luiz Fernando Malheiro to participate in the IV Amazonas Opera Festival, moving definitively to Manaus, where he participates intensely in concerts and large open-air shows and recitals.
