The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer is going to make official, this Monday (24), the delivery of five KC-390 aircraft to the Portuguese Air Force during its participation in the Brazil-Portugal Business Forum, which will be held in the city of Matosinhos, in the north of Portugal, and will have the presence of president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and about 100 Brazilian businessmen.

The event is part of the official agenda of the presidential delegation’s trip to the country, which began last Friday (21). According to the Planalto Palace, Embraer’s contract with the Portuguese government is worth 872 million euros (R$ 4.8 billion) and provides for the delivery of one aircraft per year from 2023.

In addition to the delivery, the company also signed an agreement with the country’s government to manufacture A-29N Super Tucano aircraft to the standard that meets the operational requirements of NATO, the military alliance that brings together, for the most part, European countries and the United States. United. The agreement will also be made official this Monday (24).

According to the Brazilian government, Embraer has already invested US$ 500 million (R$ 2.5 billion) in OGMA (Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal) and in two factories in the Évora Industrial Park, generating around 2,500 direct jobs and seven thousand indirect, in addition to technological cooperation in a strategic area.

Also during the Business Forum, Embraer will present some of its urban innovations, such as the flying vehicle project, and its commitment to decarbonization and energy transition and the promotion of topics such as urban and regional mobility.
