Sales in Brazilian ecommerce in August indicate a recovery in the segment this year, according to an assessment by NIQ Ebit, a consultancy that monitors business done through websites and applications. The increase was 7.9%.
In the moving quarter, the variation is also positive. NIQ Ebit considers that the acceleration of the business channel in the short term (in July the result was also positive) indicates recovery to the levels recorded in 2022.
Last year, the number of Brazilians purchasing online grew by 24% compared to 2021, reaching 108.9 million people.
In 12 months, the activity has a negative result of 2.8%. The accumulated result in the first half of the year is also bad, when the consultancy registered a drop of 7.3%.
Ecommerce gained strength in Brazil following the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, but then underwent a reaccommodation with the full reopening of activities, at the same time that income fell.
