Easter packaging and products

Easter is one of the most important dates for the chocolate and packaging sector. Every year, confectioners and gastronomic establishments launch new recipes and formats that require containers to present products in the best possible way.
According to Anderson Oliveira, managing partner of Sulformas, a confectionery packaging startup, eggs continue to be the main item on the date. Likewise, other chocolate-based products, such as cakes, bonbons, breads, pies and biscuits, are gaining strength.

“Our flagship for Easter is a collection of boxes for eggs from 50g to 500g”, says Oliveira. For the businessman, the packages need to adapt to the production of each professional.
And the box with a trio is exactly what confectionery MQC Mais que Chocolate, from Curitiba, is betting on. “The tasting kits, with 3 eggs of 50g, give the customer the chance to try more than one available flavor and decide which he will prefer for Easter, but also serve for those anxious who can’t wait until the day to eat the chocolates” , says Débora Zanon Russo, owner of the brand.
According to the director-partner of the packaging startup, the chocolate bar box is a cheaper option, but beautiful. “It contains handcrafted and stuffed versions of different flavors, making it a more accessible gift than eggs with a spoon or stuffed shell”, he says.

Another trend is family-sized desserts. In this sense, the businessman believes that, just like Christmas 2022, the purchase of desserts and cakes ready for breakfast or Easter lunch are also on the rise.
With that in mind, Débora added a dessert egg to her menu, which is prepared in a transparent acrylic shell and weighs almost 400g. “It’s an option to take the Easter egg to the table”, explains the confectioner.
“Time is getting shorter and the routine more and more hectic. It is a trend that will accompany other occasions such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and of course, Christmas and Easter too”, projects the businessman from the packaging sector .
