Promoting a large gathering of black communities in Amapá, the Encontro dos Tambores reaches its 28th edition with a program that celebrates Afro-Amapá culture. With investment from the Government of Amapá, activities have been concentrated at the Amapá Raimunda Ramos Black Culture Center (CCNA) since Friday, 17th.
The program, which has the support of the State Secretariat for Culture (Secult), will bring together communities from urban and rural areas across the state, providing a mix of cultural expressions such as mara bass, batuque, capoeira, hip-hop, and traditional religions. African and reggae.
The State Government guaranteed resources for hosting, in Macapá, communities that are coming from other municipalities, resuming a tradition that had not happened for years of welcoming participants in the Encontro dos Tambores. “There were many meetings between Secult, Mara Baixo Foundation and the State Council for Cultural Policy, with the leaders who organize this cultural activity to establish this very important partnership. One of the requests we received and promptly responded to was for the groups to stay in the capital, who previously left immediately after their presentation and did not take advantage of the event”, explains the Secretary of Culture of Amapá, Clicia Vieira Di Miceli.
The entire program was created together with the event coordination. In addition to presentations by local artists, the event will feature a national attraction that is being defined and training activities.
Community – The Drum Meeting is part of the Black Consciousness Month celebrations, which are sponsored by the State Government and former state deputy, Cristina Almeida, who amended the project during her term. The event is organized by the União dos Negros do Amapá (UNA).
