Driver who ran over Kayky Brito says he intends to run for councilor

The app driver who ran over Kayky Brito in September, Diones da Silva Coelho, used social media to interact with his followers this Saturday (2), and revealed that he wants to run for councilor in Rio de Janeiro.

When asked about the future, he replied: “I intend to become a candidate in this next election in Rio de Janeiro. It’s something I’ve already been talking about with influential people, off the record, right!? Later on, this will be formalized”, he began.

He then spoke about his motivations for being in political life. “I believe there is a lot of good things to be done, to help people who need it. Many areas that need to be improved, people who need to have a voice and be cared for. So yes, I intend to. I’ll talk more about the subject later on, when it’s more concrete,” he said.

After the repercussion of Diones’ name in the media, he became an influencer, gained 182 thousand followers and the blue verified badge on Instagram. He also bought a new car, valued at R$ 112 thousand, through a virtual fundraiser carried out by people who were touched by the driver after the accident and recently underwent facial harmonization.
