Dialogues on innovations and culture in the Amazon marked the first day of CONAMARH

Manaus (AM) — Yesterday (24), the 20th edition of the Amazon Human Resources Congress (CONAMARH) began at the Vasco Vasques Convention Center, in the Center-South zone of Manaus. Promoted by the Amazonas sectional Brazilian Association of Human Resources (ABRH-AM), CONAMARH is one of the biggest events in Brazil on people management and issues related to the corporate environment.

With the theme ‘Amazon: from Seringal to Artificial Intelligence’, this year’s Congress brings in its approach the sociocultural context of the region, and dialogues on guidelines regarding the adoption of technological resources in sectors and local HR routines.

The official opening of the 20th CONAMARH took place at 2:30 pm with a speech by the president of ABRH-AM, Silvana Aquino, and representatives of government institutions. Speaking about her, Aquino highlighted the choice of theme in this edition and emphasized the leadership role of ABRH-AM.

“Our mission is to value, respect and maintain the ABRH Amazonas brand as a reference in the region in the area of ​​people and organization management. With this year’s theme, we propose a journey through our own history of the economy of the Amazon. A passage from the heyday of rubber to what we are today – a region with an industrial park with high technology employed, providing our population with jobs, income and better quality of life, education, health and public safety, collaborating with the preservation of the environment, allowing the state of Amazonas to have more than 90% of its forest preserved”,

said the president of ABRH-AM.

Then, the first of the five inaugural keynotes of the 20th CONAMARH was held. In the ‘Leadership 4.0’ presentation, Marcelo Simonato discussed the incentives for employee productivity and the humanized relationship between demands and the achievement of goals. In another panel, the CEO of Getter, Rufo Paganini outlined an overview of AI and the application of advances in Industry 4.0.

According to Pananini, one of the recent topics of discussion involves the dilemma of using AI and possible job losses. For him, technology should be seen as an ally to human intelligence, in a natural process of the market.

“The movement we are going to make is the following: many vacancies will appear, but at the same time some will cease to exist, but the vast majority of posts will be modified. So, the challenge with the transition from the arrival of artificial intelligence is how do you reinvent yourself in your professional day-to-day using what technology allows to do the best in what you already did”,

At the end of the first day, Silvana Aquino emphasized that the success of the CONAMARH editions is due to the Association’s credibility and work with the Amazon public.

“The quality of the lectures is incredible. I believe that we really brought the essence of the rubber plantation, combined with the technology issues that we have in the Industrial Pole of Manaus. We already have a theme for 2024 and we will open sales for the stands at the next Congress”,

added Aquinas.

CONAMARH Talks

Simultaneously to CONAMARH, ABRH-AM promotes, free of charge and open to the general public, the lecture circuit ‘CONAMARH Talks’. In all, 16 companies, eight each day, facilitate exhibitions on subjects related to the HR and technology sectors.

One of the speakers, Thalita Rocha, from Instituto People, described the theme of her presentation. “We had the opportunity to talk about authentic leadership and how to guide others from within yourself. It was an opportunity for us to demystify some understandings we have about what leadership is. We have different challenges, and in the lecture we brought the perspective of humanization, but above all, how to look at yourself and in what ways self-knowledge is the fundamental basis for you to be able to take care of other people.”

For Érico Almeida, from Progride Digital, who provided an overview of technology trends in HR, the partnership with ABRH-AM is representative.

“What we see and aim for in the HR market is to get to know the scenario in Manaus. It’s the first time we’re here, so our idea was to bring new technologies and feel what the market has been asking for in HR. What people look for in a solution, if it is a tool, if it is science with security”,

Second day

The 20th CONAMARH program will continue this Friday, 8/25, with five more master lectures, which will address issues such as organizational culture, the use of AI and positive psychology.
One of the highlights will be the indigenous fashion show, with pieces from the ‘Tramas’ collection, by Amazonian stylist Maurício Duarte. The presentation of the collection will be at 17h. For him, the models produced highlight the knowledge and ancestry of the original peoples, in a vision that demystifies stereotypes and values ​​inputs and local populations.

“The idea is to make people understand the importance not only of the technology that large companies use today, but of the handicrafts that come from our grandparents and our construction in the Amazon, for example. The ‘Tramas’ collection was developed in part here in Amazonas, mainly in São Gabriel da Cachoeira, the municipality that has the highest concentration of indigenous peoples here in Amazonas, and a good part of the work was developed there with four to five associations of women and artisans individual. I believe that people are now understanding what the Amazon and our culture are”,
