The Desenrola Brasil program reached the mark of BRL 8.1 billion in renegotiated financial values, specifically in Range 2, in four weeks of execution, according to data from the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban) released this Wednesday (16).
The program’s target bank debts are handled directly with financial institutions under more advantageous conditions for customers. Range 2 includes bank debts from clients with a monthly income of more than 2 minimum wages and less than R$ 20,000, who are not registered in the Single Registry of the Federal Government.
In the period between July 17th and August 11th, the number of renegotiated debt contracts reached 1.296 million, covering a total of 985 thousand bank customers. Adherence to this program will remain open until December 31st.
Also during this period, Febraban informs that financial institutions removed negative notes from approximately five million customer records with bank debts of up to R$100. The deadline for eliminating records was July 27th. However, it is important to note that this balance sheet does not include the exclusion of records of other non-bank creditors.
The entity’s president, Isaac Sidney, said that “the Desenrola numbers speak for themselves and are a great satisfaction for everyone, banks, government and society. The great adherence and interest in the program in Track 2 are a sample of what will come in September, with Track 1”.
The Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban) clarifies that each bank adopts its own business strategy and policies to adhere to Desenrola. The specific conditions for debt renegotiation at this stage vary and depend on each financial institution that joins the program.
