Demand for aesthetic procedures grows 390%

In Amazonas, periods such as pre-Festival Parintins and Christmas and New Year fill clinic schedules

After the most severe periods of the pandemic, the aesthetics market promises to continue in full expansion, like in 2022, which marked 390% growth in aesthetic procedures across the country.

The survey by the Brazilian Society of Dermatology (SBD), which interviewed 1,218 people, found that 80% of people had already undergone some aesthetic procedure and 20% had not performed any. Among the 1,218 who underwent aesthetic procedures, 56% are women and 24% are men. The age range of this audience is between 25 and 48 years.

The information is confirmed by businesswoman Thaine Malinowski, who owns an aesthetics clinic in Manaus and has been operating for over 15 years in the beauty and body harmonization segment.

′′ We’ve felt this gradual increase in the number of patients since 2021, when we were able to attend with due biosecurity protocols. Based on studies and research, it was found that during the pandemic, people stayed at home longer, consequently looked more in the mirror, saw themselves on cameras through online meetings, which became common, at home office work, and it was from then on that some people noticed that they could improve their bodies and faces through aesthetics”, he observed.

The expert informs that Amazonian women really like to have a busy social life, at parties, celebrations, festivals, concerts, clubs, baths and, consequently, like to show off a defined body. For this reason, festive periods such as the Parintins Festival, Carnival, holidays, and the moments before Christmas and New Year are the periods when schedules are full. “Everyone wants to prepare or boost their gym results through non-invasive procedures, such as body harmonization, where we can see results in three days and they last for up to two years”. explains Thaine.

With an eye on the growth of this demand, the specialist has already opened a special agenda for those going to the Parintins Festival.

“Those who enjoy Carnival also enjoy Parintins, and as in previous years, our expectations are the best. That’s because our schedules are already starting to fill up, as soon as Carnival ends. In general, Amazonians like to value their natural beauty and conquer a sculpted body, for the parties”, concluded Thaine.
