Delphina Hospital receives inspection from the Ministry of Health to perform kidney transplants

The objective is to continue the last step in the unit’s qualification process so that the surgical act can be performed.

Representatives of the Ministry of Health visited the Delphina Rinaldi Abdel Aziz Hospital, a unit linked to the State Health Secretariat (SES-AM), on Monday (19), to carry out inspections and follow up on the process of qualifying kidney transplant services in the state.

The Secretary of Health, Anoar Samad, was present accompanying the visit with other authorities and reported the importance of the partnership between the Government of Amazonas and the Ministry of Health in the process to reach the surgical act.

“No one can perform a procedure of this magnitude alone, when I talked to Governor Wilson Lima about the issue of transplants he gave, and has been giving, support with everything that needs to be done. The transplant is already a reality. A very big emotion to stop referring patients out of state. Our main objective is this, we become a reference in this procedure that is kidney transplantation and in the future, in liver transplantation”,

said Anoar Samad.

During the visit of the health representatives, the hospital’s care team presented the organizational identity of the hospital, the indicators and results in the previous stages regarding the preparation of the structure, and processes that involve the multidisciplinary team to start the surgical procedures in the unit’s auditorium. A technical visit was also carried out to show the step-by-step care of pre-transplanted and post-transplanted patients.

The coordinator of the National Transplantation Service (SNT) of the Ministry of Health, Daniela Salomão, says that this last visit that precedes the start of surgical procedures aims not only to check the physical structure of the unit, but also to closely monitor the involvement of the entire team to make it happen.

“The fact that the health secretary Anoar is here closely participating in the process makes sure that it will go forward, and the way in which the people here presented what they have already prepared, they already have medications, the clinic is working, gave me the certainty that the unit it’s just waiting for the authorization to start the surgical act itself, everything else is already happening”,

explains Daniela.

For the start of surgical procedures, the unit prepared the entire physical structure and multidisciplinary team, outpatient clinic with exclusive access and space for transplanted and post-transplanted patients, equipment and surgical materials. Four pairs of patients have already been identified and are ready to be transplanted. The forecast is that in the month of July the first kidney transplants will be performed in the state in living patients.
