Debt negotiations increase 61% with Desenrola program

More than 1 million negotiations related to debts with banks and other segments were carried out in the first seven days of the Desenrola program, launched on the 17th. According to Serasa, it is a 61% growth compared to the same period of June (19th to 25th).

The volume of discounts granted reached BRL 2.65 billion, 90% more than in the week of June 19th to 25th. “There is a sign of people renegotiating their financial issues and seeking a return to the credit market”, highlights Serasa’s director, Matheus Moura.

Only among banks, the trading volume grew 62% in the first seven days. According to Serasa, 231,900 negotiations were carried out, involving discounts of almost R$ 1 billion.

Finance Minister Fernando Haddad said the program has the potential to clear up to 2.5 million names in its first phase, which runs until the end of the year.

The expectation of the credit bureau is that the number of defaulters will fall again in July. If the scenario is confirmed, it will be the second consecutive month of retraction in the number of people with credit restrictions. At the end of June, there were 71.45 million CPFs in this situation.

The total number of defaulters corresponded to 43.78% of the country’s adult population. And among the states, Rio de Janeiro is the leader, reaching an index of 52.80%. In the sequence appear Amapá (52.72%), Amazonas (52.20%), Federal District (52.05%) and Mato Grosso (50.33%).

More than two-thirds of bad debts involve three segments: banks and credit cards; utilities
(gas, water, energy and other monthly bills) and financial bills. “Consumers prefer to pay debts that directly affect their well-being, such as routine expenses, such as electricity and water”, says the executive.
