Corinthians Stadium has Zeca Pagodinho themed bar – 01/28/2023 – Bars and night

A bar inspired by the career of Zeca Pagodinho opened its doors at the Corinthians stadium, Neo Química Arena, in Itaquera, São Paulo, on January 17th.

In addition to investing in musical programming, the space, which bears the singer’s name, has a complete view of the field and allows you to watch the games with snacks – but without alcoholic beverages, prohibited in the moments that precede the football attractions.

The place seeks to recall the style of street bars in Rio de Janeiro, with informal tables and chairs. The blue walls are a tribute to Portela, the samba school of the musician’s heart, and have paintings that represent Zeca, his orixás and samba, made by the artist and graffiti artist Acme.

Also noteworthy in the environment is a life-size statue of the musician, which attracts customers in search of selfies. The sculpture exists in other units of the bar, but in each of them Zeca appears in a different pose – in the east zone of São Paulo, he holds a glass of beer.

Despite its name, Bar do Zeca Pagodinho is not run by the artist, but by businessman Paulo Pacheco, owner of the other four units of the chain, which are in Rio de Janeiro.

The menu features popular options in bars in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, such as cod fritters (R$48), and dishes such as rib rice (R$45) and shrimp bobó (R$51).

The latter is the recipe appreciated by the musician on his visits to the Vogue Square shopping unit, in Barra da Tijuca, Rio, the closest to his home, according to Toninho Laffargue, from Rio de Janeiro’s Bar do Momo, who signs the menu.

The menu, approved by the musician, has the same options for starters, snacks and dishes served in Rio, with occasional exceptions.

In addition to beer, Bar do Zeca offers classic drinks, such as caipirinha and gin and tonic, and original options, such as Vai Brasil, made with cachaça, Sicilian lemon liqueur and basil. On match days, alcoholic beverages stop being served two hours before the start of the match and return when the match is over.

The bar is located in one of the four corners of the arena – the opening stage of the 2014 World Cup –, above the seats in the stands and below the boxes. Those who watch the games there are just a few meters from the side dedicated to the fans of the home team.

However, to follow the games in space, you need to buy tickets, sold by the establishment itself. According to Bruna Vieira, director of the network, packages that may include consumption of food and non-alcoholic drinks are being tested. On days when the arena does not receive matches, the bar operates normally, with daily music programming.
