Manaus (AM) – The Development Council of the State of Amazonas held, this Tuesday (11), the 302nd meeting of the Development Council of the State of Amazonas (Codam), the third of the year, in which 36 industrial projects were evaluated and approved. investments of BRL 766.933 million. It is estimated that these investments will create 1,245 jobs in the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM), over a three-year period.

The meeting took place, via videoconference, at the headquarters of the State Secretariat for Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation (Sedecti), on Rua Urucará, Cachoeirinha, and was attended by representatives of commerce, industry and services. In all, 18 implementation projects, 17 diversification projects and one update project were evaluated.

The Council meeting was chaired by Sedecti’s interim secretary, Marco Antônio Villela, who represented Governor Wilson Lima. He pointed out that the agenda analyzed by Codam demonstrates the confidence of companies in investing in Amazonas, based on the State Government’s efforts to create a favorable business environment for investments in the local market.

“This demonstrates the confidence of the industrial segment in the conduct of economic policy by Governor Wilson Lima. Amazonas managed, under the command of the governor, to protect the Manaus Free Trade Zone in the tax reform, which gives legal security to investors”,

he said.

Highlights

Among the highlights in the diversification proposal is the company Cal-Comp, with a forecast of R$ 333 million in investments, representing 43% of the portfolio, for products such as video cameras for security systems, data modulator via optical network, distributor connections for “switch” network and digital router.

“Nowadays, there is a very strong tendency to increase the billing of IT goods in the Industrial Pole of Manaus. This is the future, as it is the increasingly representative segment, and leads the segments in the Manaus Free Trade Zone. This project is to produce modem and items that are computer goods, with more than 300 people employed and the maintenance of new existing jobs. It is a very significant project for our region”,

explained the executive secretary of Sedecti, Gustavo Igrejas.

Another highlight in the proposal for the implementation of new industrial projects was the company Livoltek Power Brasil Ltda for the new production line of photovoltaic solar inverter, with a forecast of R$ 79.763 million in investments.

Other industrial diversification projects analyzed and approved by the Directors were those of the companies Whirlpool Eletrodomésticos AM SA, which foresees an investment of R$ 64.780 million for the production of single-body window or wall air conditioners and microwave ovens, as well as LG Electronics, with a total investment of R$ 5.095 million for the video monitor with an organic luminescence screen (OLED), for use in information technology.
