CNU: how to choose the thematic block in the unified competition? – 02/06/2024 – Market

Registration for the federal government’s unified national competition ends at 11:59 pm this Friday (9), on the Cesgranrio Foundation website or on the Gov.br portal, in the specific space for selection. You must have a password on Gov.br to register.

The participation fee is R$60, for positions that require secondary education, and R$90, for those with higher education. Unlike other competitions, the candidate does not choose the specific position in which they want to work, but registers according to the thematic block of the vacancy —or vacancies— that interests them most.

In the block, the participant must choose the posts of interest, in order of importance. You can apply for all available vacancies if you have the required training.

There are, in total, eight blocks: seven for higher education positions and one for secondary education.

The choice of the thematic block is one of the biggest doubts for candidates interested in a position in the federal government. Therefore, the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services has guided candidates on how to proceed.

Pedro Assumpção Alves, from the MGI Personnel Management Secretariat, states that the main point to be observed before choosing the block is to understand the citizen’s vocation in public service.

To do this, he recommends observing the profession you already practice, the course in which you graduated —if applicable— and the specificities required for the vacancy of interest.

“What is the main intention of this competition, in addition to democratizing access to vacancies, which is already clear? It is for people to reflect: ‘what is your vocation in public service?'”, he said live on the 11th of January.

According to the expert, the thematic blocks were divided in order to help in choosing the candidate.

“What do I mean by that? That people look at the thematic blocks that we organized and, from that perspective, they think about their professional trajectory, their training trajectory and try to reflect on the programmatic content expressed in the blocks, what is their aspiration in public service, where do they see themselves contributing to public service?”, says Alves.

Eduardo Cambuy, professor at Gran Cursos and learning specialist, teaches a different choice strategy, focused on the time the candidate will have to prepare for the test.

According to him, the first thing to be observed when choosing the block is to understand the specificities required.

“The first rule for selecting the block is to look at the specialties, look at the vacancies, look at the subjects to see if you find it easy or difficult with them, and analyze the time you will have to study these subjects that the candidate may not know”, he says .

How to register for the unified national competition?

1. Access the website https://cpnu.cesgranrio.org.br/login
2. Enter your Gov.br login, with CPF and password
3. On the next page, go to “Authorize”
4. Then click “Start Registration”
5. On the next page, you will need to provide personal information such as name, address, telephone, email, CPF and ID, among others, in addition to accepting the site’s privacy terms
6. Go to “Next”
7. Thematic blocks will appear; You can click on “See details” to be sure of your choice
8. Click on “Aware” after reading the positions, specialties and requirements for vacancies
9. On the next page, the positions will be listed, with the specific degree for each vacancy; choose the ones that fit your profile
10. The positions you chose will then appear, in the order in which you clicked on them; It is possible to modify this order using the up or down arrows next to the position
11. Click on “I am aware” and go to “Next”
12. On the next page, choose the state and city where the tests will take place and click “Next”
13. Answer whether you want to apply for vacancies for black people; if your color or race is black or brown, click “Yes”; otherwise, go to “No” (trying to use the quotas without being entitled is fraud)
14. If you are a person with a disability, click “Yes” on the next page; otherwise, go to “No” and click “Next”
15. There is also the option of asking to be called by your social name or choosing to carry a weapon if the citizen has a specific need according to the law; you will need to fill out a document
16. Inform if you served as a juror or provided electoral service
17. On the next page, you will need to answer questions about your personal and social profile, whether you are married, whether you have children and your level of education, among others.
18. After answering all the questions, click “Next”; the next page will generate the invoice
19. Review your vacancies and click “I am aware”
20. The registration summary will appear; Check the information and click “Submit application”
21. At the end, you will need to click on “Go to the candidate area”, on the blue button that will appear on the screen, to generate and pay the invoice

According to MGI, it is possible to change the thematic block, but there is no refund of the registration fee already made if you choose to change from higher to medium level, for example. The change can be made until the contest registration deadline, that is, Friday.

The selection website is programmed to receive up to 1 million hits per day. As of this Tuesday (7), more than 1.5 million candidates had already registered for the selection.
