Cleonice Bourscheid opens exhibition and autographs books dedicated to indigenous peoples

Cleonice Bourscheid has a literary production in poetry that, for almost two decades, has addressed themes related to nature. During the pandemic, he started a project inspired by Guarani cosmology, which resulted in the books Ave, Tekohá (Editions Ardotempo, 96 pages) and Curumim (Editions Ardotempo, 56 pages) and in the exhibition Ave, Tekohá / Curumim – a tribute to the Original Peoples do Brasil, at the Secult Exhibit Hall, Casa 2, at Praça Cel. Osório, Historic Center of Pelotas.
The opening will be this Tuesday, at 6 pm, with the presence of the mayor of Pelotas, Paula Mascarenhas, and the municipal secretary of Culture, Paulo Pedrozo. The exhibition features poems by Cleonice, photographs by Aristotle Bourscheid and photographic enlargements of paintings by the artist Joana Puglia, in addition to Guarani handicrafts. From 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm, there will be an autograph session at the Market Central de Pelotas, at Espaço Aldyr Schlee / inner courtyard (books will be for sale at Livraria Vanguarda).
The exhibition continues until February 3, with free admission. It is possible to schedule the visitation of school groups, with the presence of the author, by WhatsApp (51) 993618742.
The book Ave, Tekohá was selected for the VII Helvético-Brasileiros Talent Awards, whose objective is to bring to the public works written in Portuguese that have stood out in the literary field of the country of publication. Every two years the delivery is made in the city of Geneva, Switzerland. The awards will take place on March 21, 2023, and the selected works will be exhibited at the Geneva Book Fair from March 22 to 26, 2023.
Cleonice also acts as advisor to the Artistic Direction of the Sesc International Music Festival, which takes place annually in Pelotas and is in its 11th edition, from January 16th to 27th.
