The scenic performance is built with aerial acrobatics in conjunction with live music, aiming to bring sensations and thrill the audience.

Manaus (AM) — Circo Caboclo, an independent circus company from Amazonas, promotes the show “Floating Experience — Acrobatic Show”, on the 24th and 25th of February, at 7 pm, at the Installation Theater, in the center of Manaus. The scenic presentation is built with aerial acrobatics in conjunction with live music, aiming to bring sensations and move the audience.

The show “Floating Experience” is an artistic proposal that mixes acrobatics, dance, music and acting on stage. It is a performance with ground acrobatics, aerial acrobatics, manipulation and balance acts.

The cast includes acrobats Jean Winder and Laís Silva, music by Cícero Benedito and Alexandre da Amazônia, lighting by Daniel Ferrat, with production by Amanda Magaiver and Yure Lee. With the support of the Federal University of Amazonas (Ufam), the Circus Activities and Gymnastics Dance Program (Prodagin) and sponsored by Banco da Amazônia.

First show of 2023

A “Floating Experience” is the first show by Cia Circo Cabocloin 2023. The independent proposal proposes an authorial show, with Amazonian artists, considering the specificities of the bodies and the space in which the show will be presented.

“In the experimental scenic show, we prioritize the aesthetics of the show, mainly because of our bodies, all the artists on stage are from Manaus, so we try to make this a very present brand. We face the simplicity of the venue, in the scenery and lighting, we will make it work with the audience. I believe that this is the challenge, to be able to reach the public, even with simplicity”,

explains acrobat Jean Winder, trained at the National Circus School and the National University of San Martín, in Buenos Aires.

Jean points out that the differential characteristic of the project is the scenic investigation, something new in Manaus, in addition to the dialogue with other cities in the North Region. The show is also proposed to be presented, in March, in Belém, Pará.

“This show will be our first performance this year. It’s a show we’ve been working on since last year, and we also expect to present it in Belém, Pará, until March. Our expectation, initially, is to captivate the public at the premiere of Teatro da Instalação. Our biggest recommendation is that the public come curious and willing to have fun because I’m sure that’s what will happen”,

The “Floating Experience” is really the first opportunity for artist Laísa Silva to start her journey through the circus world. She, who has a long career in the field of gymnastics, started with just 5 years in rhythmic gymnastics, an artistic activity that she carried out for more than 11 years, a period that she became part of the Associação Amazonas de Ginástica (FAG), participating in competitions internationally, in addition to having experience with ballet.

Laísa takes a risk by performing aerial activities and debuts on stage with the aerial circus modality. “I’m very happy with this presentation, it will be my debut in acrobatic lyre, which I’ve never performed, I’ve performed with hula hoop and fabric, but not compared to this modality. It has been an incredible opportunity for me to act as an acrobat,” she says.

Acrobatics mixed with music

Cícero Benedito will be responsible for producing an aura of fascination, using music to add charm to the circus performances, aiming to create an atmosphere of sensations, aligning sound with aerial acrobatics. The instruments used in the show are varied, some being indigenous.

“They are more arterial songs, a perspective of creating sensations. And create a complement to part of the performance given by Laís and Jean. The creation was given with this focus, to create a sensation, for example, in certain moments we will bring a little more tension and in others a relaxation. The intention is to go after a percussiveness, we seek a more ferocious song, to bring this perspective of this construction between one point and another. The public can expect, precisely, an experience”,

Caboclo Circus

The “Floating Experience — Acrobatic Show” project is carried out by Cia Circo Caboclo. Created in 2017, the arts company is dedicated to research and artistic production through circus language, in the city of Manaus.
