Manaus (AM) – Cineteatro Guarany presents the “Memories of 3 Amazonian Artists”, on Saturday (29), from 6:30 pm. In yet another edition of the Cineclube de Arte, the show features documentaries on renowned Amazonian artists: Jerusa Mustafa, Maestro Nivaldo Santiago and José Gomes Nogueira. The direction and screenplay is by Sérgio Cardoso.

The exhibition is part of the Cineclube de Arte, a project carried out by the Government of Amazonas, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy. According to the holder of the folder, Marcos Apolo Muniz, “the intention is to value the artists of our region, as well as the dissemination of historical and cultural knowledge of the state”, emphasizes Apolo.

The short films, which will be shown, are part of a personal project by Sérgio Cardoso. According to him, the objective is to make a memory-cinema, in the sense of recording the impressions of personalities from the Amazonian artistic world.

“Our work is the cultural diffusion of memory. It is contemporary history, which passes through our eyes and the vast majority do not care, much less with any interest in paying attention”,

points out the director.

With the titles “Jerusa Mustafa – The pianist of the city”, “Maestro Nivaldo Santos – The conductor of Manaus” and “José Gomes Nogueira – The eternal home of Christmas”, the documentaries were produced in the artistic ambiences of each personality. The Teatro Amazonas, Casa do Natal and Jerusa Mustafa’s residence are filming settings.
