Children’s Day: Entrepreneurial brothers invest in advertising on bread bags in Manaus

Manaus (AM) – A report by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2022, carried out by Sebrae and the National Association for Studies in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management (Anegepe), showed that 67% of Brazilian adults are involved in entrepreneurship. In absolute numbers, this represents more than 93 million Brazilians.

The desire to have their own business has motivated Brazilians to invest in small and medium-sized businesses and, increasingly, children, young people and teenagers are also harboring the desire to own their own business. But, to open your business, you need to make it clear that the child’s effort will be to benefit their tastes and expenses, as psychologist Joyce Queiroz explains.

“The child needs to keep in mind that this job may not be his life’s work, but it can help him have an income to buy things for himself, and not just to pay the household bills”,

scored.

A successful example is the company “Legado do Pão”. Focused on advertising and advertising through bread bags, entrepreneurs Ásafe Mota, aged 13, and Noah Mota, aged 11, are responsible for managing the company that promotes brands and businesses through printing.

“My brother and I were always wanting to buy some toys, some food at our school, and we always asked our parents. But we got tired of asking for money so much and we decided to have our own financial freedom, that’s where the idea came from. We spoke to our mom and she already had some ideas in mind. We chose some of these ideas and wanted to put them into practice”,

said Asaph.

With the idea in mind, it was time to put the plan into practice. Counting on the support of their parents, the boys decided on the next steps for the family business.

“We asked our mother to be able to make the logo, we asked our mother if we could advertise on bread bags, and she allowed it. She wanted us to do this work and wanted to collaborate with us. We really like our brand, because we created it together”, revealed Noah.

In the age of technology, the choice of brothers draws attention. Increasingly, social networks are becoming the main tool for promoting new businesses, it is a vast land for those who want to make their brand famous. Going against the tide, Ásafe and Noah invest in “Legado do Pão”, as low-budget, high-reach marketing is still effective.

“The bread bag is one of the most viable ways for us, for our studies, because fully investing in technology is not always something that someone will see; different from our bag of bread, which will always be in the bakery and goes into the customer’s home”,

highlighted the 13-year-old teenager.

Home incentive

For the business to move forward, the support and encouragement of parents was essential. Couple Lúcia and Harrison Mota talk about how they prepared to provide the support their children needed when setting up their new business.

“My wife and I never had that incentive. My wife has been an entrepreneur since she was a child, she sold bananas on the street, sold cookies, did various types of things, so the entrepreneur was already in it. I worked in a company, I saved a lot of money, money that could build something. We set up our business and we saw our children growing up”,

Harrison recalled.

With more experience in the area, the parents’ advice helped Ásafe and Noah to lead the “Legado do Pão”. According to Lúcia Mota, before creating your own business, you need to know your own limits.

“I always say this, for you to do your best, you must first learn. First you undertake it within yourself. In order for you to be able to help your child, or someone around you, you need to do something about yourself first. The business starts at home, it goes from home to outside”,

evaluated the mother.

And to be able to balance time between the activities of parents and children, it is necessary to have a lot of organization. During the morning, Ásafe and Noah are at school, and depending on the day’s schedule, the brothers have extracurricular activities to complete, as well as managing their businesses.

“When I wake up, take a shower and go to school, we stay until 12:40, it’s very difficult because we come back with a headache and hunger. Then we have lunch, we have a meeting, mother tells us to study to get better results”, mentioned Noah.

Despite being entrepreneurs, parents make it very clear that their children are children. Just like any minor, you need to know how to allocate time for each task, so that they don’t feel overwhelmed.

“We make a point of following them, going swimming, going to football and we have to know how to distinguish between times. The time to be a child is to be a child; the moment of entrepreneurship is the moment of entrepreneurship; the time to study is the time to study. We managed to divide the activities well”,

highlighted Harrison.

Family dynamics are also important for professional success. Children have a different amount of time than their parents when it comes to day-to-day activities. It is necessary to adapt routines by listening to your children’s opinions.

“This issue of separating study and work depends a lot on the dynamics of the house, the time that parents have to see what the children have done in relation to their studies and in relation to the work they are investing in. You could set aside two to three days to sit down with the family and talk about profits, doubts, investments, but this time is when the child decides to give up their games and fun, to do their ‘work’, and the parents need to adjust the your time to them,”

explained psychologist Joyce.

Future of small entrepreneurs

Conquering more and more space in Amazonian entrepreneurship, Ásafe and Noah are maturing with responsibility. Making their parents proud with each achievement, Lúcia and Harrison are preparing for the independence that their children will have in a few years.

“One is 11 years old and the other is 13. We know it is a phase, being a moment, but they are acquiring discipline. When it comes to their future, we leave it very free so that they can make their choices with the greatest truth, discernment and wisdom. This is what we are implementing: responsibility with freedom”,

assured the mother.

In the process of acceptance, Ásafe and Noah’s father believes he is doing a good job giving advice and support to his children.

“For me, I would put them in a little box, as a father, and they would live with me for the rest of their lives, but life goes on, we raise children for the world. We are trying to raise them in the best possible way, so that when they reach adulthood, they already know what they have to do, make the right decisions, follow God’s paths, which we always preach”,

Harrison confessed.

Serving as an example for other children and teenagers, the brothers give tips for those who want to become entrepreneurs, even when they are young.

“A tip for anyone who wants to have their own business is to start reading the book ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad for Young People’, by Robert T. Kiyosaki. He helped me a lot, he encouraged me even more to be able to create my company and of course, talk to his parents and see what is within his reach”,

indicated Asaph.

Noah, in turn, prefers to leave a phrase of inspiration so that more young people feel motivated to follow their dreams.

“My support phrase is ‘Dreaming big and dreaming small takes the same work, so dream big’”,

concluded the 11-year-old entrepreneur.
