Eating well doesn’t have to be complicated, that’s what chef Guilherme Guzela defends, who this Tuesday (19) in the Bom Gourmet class-show in partnership with RPC, at ExpoApras, shared practical tips in the kitchen and taught how to do it a chess chicken in just 15 minutes.
According to Guzela, who, in addition to being a chef, is a gastronomy teacher, presenter and content creator, practicality begins when shopping at the supermarket.
“Today it is much easier for you to find things already cut, already proportioned. For those who are single and afraid to cook at home, because there will be food left over, you can buy smaller portions of peppers at the supermarket, for example. Instead of buying a whole pepper, you will find a mix of three peppers ready for you to cook”.
In addition, another factor that helps a lot in practical life in the kitchen is easy access to information, said the chef. “With search engines on the internet and social networks, people are able to earn revenue by searching for content, be it a video or an article”.
Another point addressed by Guzela in the show-class was the concept of real food, which for him involves choosing quality ingredients, but also affection.
“For me, real food is food that has affection, that has affection. And you can only convey this from the moment you put your hand on the food you are preparing. And as I joke, the affectionate food, that comfort food is what will make you feel warm, you will feel the care of those who prepared it”.
For this action at ExpoApras, the chef brought the recipe for a checkered chicken, easy and practical to make, using already portioned ingredients from the supermarket. The chef showed the audience that it is possible to eat real food in a simple, functional and quick way. In the end, the audience experienced the result.
“I liked it a lot, because it was practical. We think it will be laborious, but in fact we see that it is possible to prepare a tasty recipe and that it doesn’t take long to make”, said Ana Carolina da Silva, marketing analyst.

Ingredients
- 400g diced chicken breast
- 3 bell peppers, sliced (green, yellow, and red; 1 of each)
- 1 onion in cubes
- 1 spoon of prepared garlic paste
- 100 ml of soy sauce
- 100 ml of water
- 50 ml of apple cider vinegar
- 1 spoon of sugar
- 50 ml oyster sauce (if you have it)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch for thickening
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- salt
- Pepper
Method of preparation:
- Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
- Saute the chicken in a frying pan with sesame oil.
- Add the vegetables and let it cool.
- Combine the water, soy sauce, vinegar, oyster sauce and sugar and mix well.
- Dissolve cornstarch to thicken.
- Add the sauteed vegetables and chicken.
- Add peanuts (optional)
