Famous in São Paulo for the wide variety of fondues that often form queues at Itaim Bibi and Morumbi, the restaurant “Era Uma Vez um Chalezinho” –or just Chalezinho, for the intimate– has just opened a new unit in Gramado, in the Serra Gaúcha.
Opened in the last new unit, it works in ‘soft opening’ until the 27th of July, when it will finally enter into full operation.
With 800 square meters and capacity to receive up to 250 customers for lunch and dinner, the chain’s new house is located on Avenida Borges de Medeiros, in the center of Gramado, and has the same rustic atmosphere as the other units, with furniture and structures in wood and stone.
The kitchen of the new unit is open, allowing customers to watch chef Cristian Bauer prepare the dozens of options on the menu, which, according to the chain, was adapted to value local producers in Rio Grande do Sul. Fondue accompaniments include, for example, Queijo da Serra, jams and jams produced in the region.
Despite having established itself in São Paulo, Era Uma Vez um Chalezinho was born in Belo Horizonte, at the end of the 1970s. It was only in 2001 that the founder’s children brought the operation to the capital of São Paulo. Due to the success, last year the chain also opened a third unit in Campos do Jordão, another unmissable winter destination in Brazil.
