Casarão de Ideias announces public call for artistic occupations in space

The occupations will be produced by the artists, in partnership with Casarão, aiming to promote the various manifestations of contemporary arts

Manaus (AM) – The Casarão de Ideias Cultural Center (CCCI) promotes, as of next Monday (17), Public Call No. 01/2023 with the aim of selecting projects, artists, companies, artistic groups and collectives interested in occupying, with their works, the calendar of the cultural space, from August to December 2023.

According to João Fernandes, director of the CCCI, the occupations will be produced by the artists, in partnership with the Casarão, aiming to promote the various manifestations of contemporary arts, with a view to fostering research, stimulating new investigative processes, seasons, residencies, exhibitions, lectures, debate cycles, reading cycles, book launches and other language experiments, in addition to strengthening the social dynamics of art.

“Proposals will be evaluated by a commission designated by Casarão de Ideias, and composed of members representing the field of arts. Its composition will be disclosed at the end of the selection process, on the cultural center’s website. The commission’s mission will be to analyze the proposals submitted and define which ones met the requirements of the public notice, and then define the annual schedule of exhibitions”,

explains Fernandes.

Options will be offered for show seasons (dance, theater and music), gallery (exhibitions with seasons of up to two months), training activities (dissemination, training and exchange) and Cine Casarão (exhibitions and festivals). It is worth mentioning that the proposals will be analyzed according to the criteria of contemporaneity, technical quality and/or conceptual relevance, relevance of the proposal in the panorama of contemporary artistic production and viability.
