According to the bank, demand for renegotiation of debts in its channels doubled in two days
Caixa Econômica Federal announced that it will open its branches one hour in advance this Friday (21). The action, called Dia do Desenrola, aims to serve the public interested in renegotiating their debts through the Desenrola Brasil program.
According to the public bank, demand for debt negotiation doubled in its channels in the period of two days. Maria Rita Serrano, president of Caixa, will follow up on services at branches in the Federal District, according to the institution.
In addition to advance service at physical branches, Caixa will provide a branch truck in Santos (SP).
Caixa disclosed that, in Track 2 of Desenrola, customers will be able to pay in cash with discounts of up to 90%, or pay the debt in up to 96 months (eight years), with interest from 1.18% per month.
To negotiate the debt, in addition to bank branches, the account holder can use the Cartão Caixa application, the Caixa Desenrola website or the phones 0800-104-0104 (which can also be called via WhatsApp) and 4004-0104 (capitals and metropolitan regions ).
HOW TRACK 2 OF DESENROLA BRASIL WORKS
Currently, in track 2 of Desenrola, those with bank debt that generated the negative result between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2022 can join.
Participants earning between R$2,640 (two minimum wages) and R$20,000 per month will have a minimum period of 12 months to pay. The amount of installments and the interest rate will be negotiated with the bank.
There is no limit on the amount to be paid. If the financial institution does not participate in the program, the account holder can carry out the portability of the debt to another bank, according to Febraban (Brazilian Federation of Banks).
With the renegotiation of the debt amount, the customer who owes up to R$ 100 will have his name removed from the list of defaulters as soon as he joins Desenrola, if he does not have debts from other sources such as electricity, water and stores.
This will allow him to obtain other lines of credit or sign a lease, for example. However, the debt must be paid and the person will have their name on the list of defaulters again if they do not pay off the renegotiated installments on time.
The government’s expectation is that 30 million people will benefit in this first moment and that R$ 50 billion in debt can be renegotiated.
