Families with pregnant women and children between 7 and 18 years old receive an increase

Caixa Econômica Federal will pay this Wednesday (21) the June installment of the new Bolsa Família to beneficiaries with Social Registration Number (NIS) at the end of 3. This will be the first installment with the new additional R$ 50 for families with pregnant women and children aged 7 to 18 years.

Since March, Bolsa Família has paid an additional R$150 to families with children up to 6 years old. In this way, the total value of the benefit can reach R$ 900 for those who meet the requirements to receive the additional two.

The minimum value corresponds to R$ 600, but with the new additional benefit, the average value of the benefit rises to R$ 705.40, the highest in the history of the program. According to the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, this month the Federal Government’s income transfer program will reach 21.2 million families, with an expenditure of R$ 14.97 billion.

Since the beginning of the year, the social program has been renamed Bolsa Familia. The minimum amount of BRL 600 was guaranteed after the approval of the Constitutional Amendment of the Transition, which allowed the spending of up to BRL 145 billion outside the spending ceiling this year, of which BRL 70 billion is destined to fund the benefit.

The payment of the additional BRL 150 began in March, after the government combed the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico), to eliminate fraud. According to the most recent balance, released in April, about 2.7 million individuals with inconsistencies in the registration had their benefit cut.

Despite the cut, a period of 60 days was granted for around 1.2 million people who registered as single-person families in the second half of last year to regularize the situation and prove the requirements to return to the program. The main rule is that the family has a monthly income of up to R$218 per person, which is obtained by dividing the total income by the number of family members.

Another novelty incorporated into Bolsa Família in June is the beginning of the protection rule. Even getting a job and improving income, the new rule allows the family to remain in the program for up to two years, provided that each member receives the equivalent of up to half a minimum wage. In this case, the family receives 50% of the amount of the benefit to which it would be entitled.

In the traditional Bolsa Família model, payment takes place in the last ten business days of each month. The beneficiary will be able to consult information about payment dates, the amount of the benefit and the composition of the installments in the Caixa Tem application, used to monitor the bank’s digital savings accounts.

Gas Allowance

The Gas Aid will also be paid this Wednesday to families registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico), with final NIS 3. With a value of R$ 109 in June, the benefit follows the Bolsa Família calendar. The amount fell compared to April because of recent reductions in the price of cylinders.

Expected to last until the end of 2026, the program benefits 5.62 million families this month. With the approval of the Constitutional Amendment of the Transition and the provisional measure of the Novo Bolsa Família, the benefit was maintained at 100% of the average price of the 13 kg cylinder until the end of the year.

You can only receive the Gas Allowance if you are included in the CadÚnico and have at least one family member who receives the Continued Provision Benefit (BPC). The law that created the program defined that the woman responsible for the family will have preference, as well as women victims of domestic violence.
