Large retail and wholesale businessmen began to look favorably on population growth in the ZL

Manaus (AM) – According to data from the 2022 Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) census, the North Zone of Manaus had around 609,924 thousand inhabitants, being considered the most populous region of the city. If compared to the population of Manaus, which reached a total of 2,063,547 inhabitants, there is a considerably large number in relation to the total number of the capital of Amazonas. In other words, a small city within another.

Numbers that have caught the attention of large retail and wholesale business owners who started to look favorably on this population growth and decided to invest in expanding their businesses by analyzing these statistics and looking at supply and demand. This is the case of businessman, Henrique Sanches, founder of Extravaganza, one of the largest distributors in the North of Brazil who, after investing in expanding his business by investing in physical structure and creating the first stores with his brand, product diversification, training and employees, opens in the second week of January 2024 at Shopping Cidade Leste, a Magazine-style store, Extravaganza Magazine.

The investment, according to the businessman, is part of the expansion of his business plan. He says that the growth of commerce in the East Zone is evidence and several companies have started to build branches of their stores to meet the high demand from consumers in the area.

“That’s where the money is spinning. People are looking for the convenience of finding products and services from various segments such as large drugstores, supermarket chains, banks, and Emergency Citizen Assistance Services (Pacs). The market is booming in that area, as well as in other areas of Manaus”,

analyzes Sanches.

Henrique Sanches, who will open his first Magazine-style store, has invested in a 400 square meter space with products ranging from school supplies, parties, confectionery, candy, disposables, toys, utilities, stationery and in the second phase of its inauguration: a fast graphic.

The estimate is that five more stores will be delivered to different areas of the capital of Amazonas next year. “We are fulfilling our expansion plan. It does not stop there. The neighborhoods of the capital of Amazonas grow day after day. And the demand for commerce too”, he points out.

For the president of Shopping Cidade Leste, Ayman YCoup, the creation of the shopping center was understood at the beginning of the commercial expansion process in that area and the search for businesspeople to invest in the location would be instantaneous after its creation.

Today, the mall has 220 stores, four anchor stores and 400 parking spaces. By 2024, the forecast is for the arrival of two more Anchor stores and 200 more parking spaces for cars.

“The East Zone currently concentrates the city’s largest economy, taking into account that almost 35% of Manaus’ population is concentrated there”,

says the president.

After opening Parazim Express in Parque 10 in 2023, the company continues to pursue its expansion plan and begins preparations for the opening of Parazim Express, in the East Zone.

Rafael is also one of the businessmen who believes and decided to invest in boosting business in ZL.

“In 2024 we will have several new developments within the group and one of them is the expansion of our stores and the growth and expansion of commerce in that entire area is undeniable. We did a mapping and study before opening and meeting the demands of consumers in that neighborhood,”

comments Rafael.
