Cervejaria Petrópolis announced on Thursday night that the judgment of its judicial recovery process determined the attachment of R$ 70 million against Santander Brasil, for non-compliance with the decision that determined that the creditor banks immediately release resources from accounts of the beverage group .

The company, which filed for bankruptcy this month at the 5th Business Court of Rio de Janeiro, said in a press release that Santander Brasil “unduely withheld about R$65 million, preventing the company’s employees from receiving their salaries this Thursday”.

“The bank’s non-compliance prevented the payroll of 24,000 company employees, whose processing is done by Santander itself”, said the brewery that owns the Itaipava brand.

With that, Judge Elizabete Longobardi, from the 5th Business Court of Rio de Janeiro, stated in the decision, according to the brewery, that Santander has to make the payments “due to the workers, with new appropriations being prohibited on the amounts allocated by the companies under reorganization for this purpose “.

According to information from the newspaper O Globo, the judge imposed a daily fine of 10% of the pledged amount, if the order is not complied with. Previously, Elizabete Longobardi had already given two injunctions against Santander, demanding the release of the amounts from the Petrópolis Brewery account.
