Oteque and Lasai restaurants are among the top 100 in the world in the 51-100 list of the World’s 50Best 2023 released this Thursday (8). The two houses are in Rio de Janeiro and are the only ones in Brazil to appear in this stage of the ranking.

Commanded by chef Rafa Costa e Silva, Lasai ranked 58th on the list. Oteque, in turn, ranked 76th. Heading the house is chef Alberto Landgraf from Paraná. Last year, both restaurants were on the World’s 50Best list. Ranked 78th and 47th respectively. The Brazilians DOM, Evvai and Maní, who appeared in this stage of the list in the ranking in 2022, were not mentioned this year.

At position 51 on the World’s 50Best 51-100 list was Narisawa restaurant, located in Tokyo, Japan. The list of the 50 best restaurants in the world will be released by 50Best on June 20, at a ceremony in the city of Valencia, Spain.

In 2022, the Brazilian A Casa do Porco, from São Paulo, surprised by ranking seventh among the best in the world. This was the first time that a Brazilian house was in the Top 10 ranking of the British magazine Restaurant. The list is based on a survey of judges from around the world.
