The trade balance of Brazilian imports and exports registered a surplus of US$ 11.38 billion (R$ 57 billion) in May, according to data from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC) released this Thursday (1/6). ). The volume is 129.5% higher compared to the same month in 2022 (see in full).

According to the MDIC, Brazil exported US$ 33.07 billion, with an increase of 11.6% in comparison with April, while imports totaled US$ 21.69 billion, a decrease of 12.1%.

Exports in the agricultural sector had the biggest increase in the month, of 15.7%, totaling US$ 9.2 billion in items such as live animals, paddy rice, among others. However, the same agro was the one that most imported products, such as wheat and rye.

The MDIC also informed that Argentina and China (including Hong Kong and Macau) were the main trading partners in the month.
