Manaus (AM) – The Boi-Bumbá Garantido Folklore Association signed an agreement with the Regional Labor Court to settle debts arising from labor lawsuits filed by former workers of the folkloric entity. They are processes that have dragged on for years, left by past administrations. In this agreement, R$ 1 million and 500 thousand will be paid. Agreements will be signed to settle more than 300 labor lawsuits that have been pending for over ten years.

President Antônio Andrade had as a premise of his administration to settle the debts of ox workers that had been going on for some time, bringing back to the red shirts the hope of a prosperous and promising festival.

“We thank everyone involved, especially the workers and their lawyers who trusted Boi to reach a common denominator that is good for both parties”,

celebrated the president.

According to Garantido’s legal director, Iuri Albuquerque Gonçalves, the labor claims against Garantido will be paid through transfers of 30% from Coca Cola, one of the main sponsors of the Parintins oxen, and the sale of Festival tickets, from next year. Iuri pointed out that the agreement made by Garantido also applies to the opposite ox.

“The Guaranteed and the contrary signed this agreement with all creditors, before the Regional Labor Court of the 11th Region-TRT11. Now the labor debts against Garantido that have been collected will be frozen, without interest or corrections and will be paid with transfers of 30% of ticket sales and sponsorship from Coca Cola, starting next year”,

said Iuri Gonçalves.

For the administrative director of bumbá, Adson Silveira, Garantido will settle part of the labor debt as of this agreement, with R$ 1.5 million being made available. These financial resources, says Adson, come from the medical company Samel and Colonel Ozores, money that would be used in the auction of part of Cidade Garantido. The auction did not materialize and the bumbá property continues to be part of the heritage of the folk association.

“We have that advantage. We have already paid one and a half million (R$ 1.5 million) in this agreement. This is an agreement that benefits dozens of workers and reduces part of the labor debt”,

stressed the managing director.
