BNDES will invest BRL 23.5 billion in energy transition – 06/26/2023 – Panel SA

The director of Infrastructure at the BNDES, Luciana Aparecida da Costa, and the chairman of the bank’s board, Rafael Lucchesi, presented, this Wednesday (28), the investment plan for the sector to 300 businessmen. They participate in the 22nd LIDE Business Forum, in Rio de Janeiro.

The portfolio of investments in infrastructure is R$ 47 billion and half already corresponds to projects aimed at energy transition.

The bank’s executive estimates that this portfolio grew by around 10% compared to the previous year, a performance considered acceptable given the financial constraints at the time.

Since the Lula government took control of the BNDES, the bank has started to bet on renewable energy projects and wants to boost investments in companies that operate in the free energy market – today with a large part of the operation in companies with high industrial consumption.

Promoted by João Doria’s group, the Business Forum runs until Friday (30) and will be attended by ministers, governors and authorities. The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court, Luiz Fux, has already confirmed; the president of Petrobras, Jean Paul Prates; governors Cláudio Castro (RJ), Ronaldo Caiado (GO) and Eduardo Leite (RS).
