Manaus (AM) — Reinforcing protection against Covid-19, the Open University Foundation for the Third Age (FUNATI), in partnership with the City of Manaus, promotes an immunization morning at the FUnATI Gerontological Polyclinic Darlinda Esteves Ribeiro, next Monday (6th). ), from 8:30 am to noon. The polyclinic is located at Avenida Brasil, 11.430, in the Santo Antônio neighborhood, in the West Zone of the capital.

The bivalent vaccines against Covid-19, made available by the Municipal Health Secretariat of the capital (Semsa Manaus), will be offered at FUnATI for the priority group of elderly people aged 60 and over. Following the criteria recommended by the Ministry of Health, those who have completed the basic scheme with the second dose of the primary scheme, or booster doses, for at least four months will be able to receive the dose.

According to the rector of FUnATI, Euler Ribeiro, it is essential that elderly people protect themselves against Covid-19 with this immunizing dose.

“Pfizer’s bivalent vaccine against Covid-19 fights the original strain of the disease and also the omicron variant. Therefore, it is very important that the elderly embrace this vaccine more as a form of protection”,

he said.

The municipal secretary of Health, Shádia Fraxe, points out that the partnership with FUNATI helps to expand the access of the elderly to the bivalent vaccine, who will have the opportunity to receive their dose at an alternative service point.

“All the strategies for offering vaccines against Covid-19 are very important to ensure greater coverage of the population against the disease”, he said.

To receive the vaccine, it is necessary to present an official document with a photo, CPF, Covid-19 vaccination card and the SUS Card at the reception of the Polyclinic.
