Actor and voice actor Ettore Zuim, known for voicing Christian Bale in “Batman” and Hercules in Disney animation, managed to undergo angioplasty after intense mobilization of friends and voice actors. He had been hospitalized in serious condition at the Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo since January 28 to treat an arterial disease and the necessary procedures were constantly postponed, as friends revealed.
The surgery took place on the afternoon of last Wednesday, the 15th. Friends, who previously worried about the risk of Ettore having his foot amputated, celebrated the success of the procedure.
“Everything went well and he’s already in the room. He had an angioplasty and didn’t have to amputate his toe. Let’s keep sending positive energies”, said voice actor Ygor Guidoux. “Eighteen days after being hospitalized, he finally underwent the necessary and urgent surgical procedures. He’s already in his room, dying to go home”, said Fátima Valença.
During this period of hospitalization, the community of voice actors made crowdfunding and lives to raise money to cover Ettore’s expenses. Much of the wait for the surgery was due to the lack of adequate equipment at Santa Casa. The Brotherhood even explained, in a note, to CBN radio that the arteriography device was undergoing maintenance. They reported that “the medical team is seeking to perform the procedure by all available means and that the patient is receiving all necessary assistance.”
