One of the national passions, barbecue has a date reserved for it on the calendar. This Monday, April 24th, Barbecue Day is celebrated in Brazil.
The event has been celebrated for 20 years. It emerged in Rio Grande do Sul, a state with a barbecue tradition, through law number 11,929, enacted in 2003.
There’s still time to join the celebration and plan a dinner with grilled meats. For that, check out five restaurants in São Paulo that offer all-you-can-eat barbecue options.
The Vegan Owl
Opened in early 2021, the place claims to be the first vegan steakhouse in the country. The restaurant recreates traditional dishes and skewers with plant foods such as soy, beans, mushrooms and seitan —a gluten-based preparation that approximates the texture of meat. The menu options can be ordered separately or in the form of a carvery, which consists of starters, side dishes, grilled vegan meats and a skewer.

With meats selected by chef-grill chef Jeferson Finger, the traditional restaurant offers all-you-can-eat barbecue at its headquarters, in Itaim BIbi. The option costs BRL 209 per person and offers about 20 cuts, such as sirloin steak and flank steak. To accompany, there is a buffet of salads and other items to help yourself.

The gaucho-style steakhouse offers all-you-can-eat meats with a salad buffet and dessert included. From Monday to Friday, it costs R$140 per person, and on weekends and holidays, it costs R$155 per person for all you can eat.

Since the beginning of the year, the meat restaurant has three new cuts on the menu. The all-you-can-eat buffet, which already had 18 prime meat options, now includes chicken, served whole, spicy sausage and filet mignon on the bone. Those who do not opt for the rotation in any of the units can order the order and pick it up on site.

NB Steak
The all-you-can-eat meal costs BRL 210 per person and includes 12 cuts, such as termite and flank steak, as well as fish, starters, salads and side dishes — all served at the table. Among the items to go with it are roasted onions, sweet potatoes and grilled heart of palm. Drinks and desserts are charged separately.
