The center of São Paulo loses another bar this week. O Térreo, which operated for four years on the ground floor of a residential building in Largo do Arouche, receives customers only until this Saturday, July 1st.
Among the reasons for closing are personal issues and changes in the bar’s movement in recent years, according to Leo Henry, who runs the house alongside Alex Ferrer, responsible for the counter.
“At that moment, it was the decision that made the most sense. We understood that the energy we needed to put into the bar at that moment conflicted with personal projects”, says Henry. “But we end this cycle super happy.”
He does not rule out the possibility of resuming the bar in the future, including in the city center, which has seen other addresses closed due to insecurity in the region, such as Jaguar.
Henry continues to lead other projects: the La Casserole restaurant and the Infini bar, both in Arouche.
Térreo came up with the idea of offering high-end cocktails at affordable prices. In the menu, there are authorial and classic drinks with prices from R$ 29 to R$ 42. It is possible to taste the recipes at a counter in the lounge or at the tables outside.
For those who go to say goodbye to the address, Henry recommends the bonne spritz cocktail (R$ 29), which has gin, sparkling wine, red fruit jelly and lemon. To accompany, the tip is to order the flagship of the food menu, the portion of stuffed and gratin mushrooms, for R$ 31.
