Avian flu: there are 36 confirmed cases in wild birds – 06/16/2023 – Market
[ad_1]
This Friday (16), Brazil reached 36 confirmed cases of avian flu, all in wild birds. There are still 13 ongoing investigations. The information is from the system created by Mapa (Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock) to monitor outbreaks of the virus.
The site is updated every day, at 1 pm and 7 pm, and can be consulted by anyone. “As necessary, Mapa will continue to improve the tool to facilitate access to information for the entire Brazilian population”, says the ministry.
The ministry warns the population not to collect birds that are sick or dead, but to call the nearest veterinary service to prevent the disease from spreading.
The federal government claims that Brazil remains free of avian influenza in commercial breeding and maintains its status as a country that does not have the disease before the World Organization for Animal Health, exporting its products for safe consumption.
