Brazilians’ assessment of the work of Finance Minister Fernando Haddad worsened in October, according to a Genial/Quaest survey released this Wednesday (25). The same survey shows that pessimism regarding the economy has grown and the level of disapproval of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) has increased.
In the survey, 26% considered Minister Haddad’s performance as negative. In August, the percentage was 23%. Performance was assessed as regular by 30% of those interviewed (compared to 32% in the previous survey), and the positive assessment remained at 26%. The remaining 18% did not respond.
For 32% of those surveyed, the economy is worse, an index 9 percentage points above that recorded in August. Another 33% consider it to be the same. In August, this index was 39%. And for 33% of those interviewed, the scenario has improved in the last 12 months (compared to 34% in the previous survey).
“It’s him [Haddad] who tends to pay the price for the success or failure of the government’s economic agenda”, says Felipe Nunes, director of Quaest and specialist in opinion polls and social networks.
