Artistic bodies occupy cultural spaces and schools in Manaus, in September

Manaus (AM) – In September, the Corpos Artísticos do Amazonas take the diversity of their presentations to the cultural spaces of the city. Between dance performances, concerts and recitals, the shows take place in the main theaters managed by the State Government, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy. In addition, schools in the state network will also host the shows. Attractions are free.
Installation Theater
Opening the month’s performances, Teatro da Instalação receives, on September 1st, the Grupo Vocal dos Corpos Artísticos (GVCA), at 7 pm. With the recital “Missa in G Maior”, by Franz Schubert, the GVCA presents movements that alternate between choir and soloists. The work was composed in 1815, when the composer was 18 years old, and its premiere took place in a modest parish church, in the suburbs of Vienna. Classification is free.
On the 12th of September, Amazonas Band presents “Legados”, at 7 pm, at Teatro da Instalação. The concert, which ranges from Mambo to Jazz, including bolero, features episode 2 of the series “Legados”, which illustrates a selection of Caribbean jazz music.
With the show “Rios Voadores”, the Corpo de Dança do Amazonas (CDA) will perform on September 15, at 7 pm, at Teatro da Instalação. In the show, choreographer Rosa Antuña seeks to bring to the scene the importance of preserving the environment as a crucial point for the balance of the planet. The Amazonian mythology, in addition to its fauna and flora, form the inspiration for the construction of the movement of this work.
On the 22nd of September, at 7 pm, the Amazonas Guitar Orchestra (Ovam) will take the stage of the Installation Theater with a concert focused on cinematographic classics and children’s games, starting the celebration of Children’s Day. The repertoire includes Disney classics, Sítio do Pica-pau-amalo and games like Super Mario, for example. It’s a show to enjoy, get involved in and remember your childhood.
Teatro Gebes Medeiros
For those restless and lovers of this world of classics and children’s games, Ovam also takes the program to Teatro Gebes Medeiros, this Saturday (02/09), at 18h. The classics “An ideal world”, “Aqui no Mar” and a medley of “The Lion King” are in the repertoire. Classification is free.
Rio Negro Palace
On September 26, the Palácio Rio Negro Cultural Center will host the Amazonas Chamber Orchestra (OCA), at 7 pm, with the concert “Ramificaçãos”. Compositions by Valentin Silvestrov, Michael Nylman, Karl Jenkins, Pēteris Vasks and György Sándor Ligeti are in the repertoire. The rating is for ages six and up.
Public schools
With the aim of taking the program beyond cultural spaces, some schools in the state network will host performances by Corpos Artísticos in September.
On the 11th of September, the Guitar Orchestra takes to the Institute of Education of Amazonas (IEA) the concert with the theme of films and children’s games. In a favorable environment to remember the first age, the presentation takes place at 2 pm.
On the 12th, students from the Antônio da Encarnação Filho State School will attend the show “Dancing our composers”, by the Folkloric Ballet of Amazonas. The school is located on Avenida Laguna, in the Lírio do Vale neighborhood, in the central-west zone of Manaus.
The Vocal Group presents, on September 14th, the show “Coros de Ópera” at the EETI Zilda Arnz Neumann, located in the Jesus Me Deu community, in the north of the city. The concerto is a collection of choral music from operas. It contains from the consecrated opera choirs, such as “Và pensiero”, from the opera “Nabucco”, by Verdi, as well as from Mozart’s operas “Don Giovanni” and “Don Pasquale”.
On the 19th, the presentation goes to the Frei Mario Monacelli School, located on section 2 of Avenida Grande Circular, in the Cidade Nova neighborhood, in the north zone.
