In a statement released through the social network X (formerly Twitter), the Argentine Ministry of Infrastructure announced a significant reduction in the management of Aerolíneas Argentinas.

The ministry, under the responsibility of Guillermo Ferraro, informed that it will reduce the number of directors at the state-owned airline by 43%, which will now have eight directors. Currently, the company has 14.

The sectors that will report directly to the company’s general management will decrease from 17 to 11. According to the minister, the measure is part of the government’s policies to reduce the size of the state and the reforms led by President Javier Milei. The Argentine president has already announced his intention to privatize the airline.

These actions, according to Aviacionline, are part of the rationalization plan to improve the company’s efficiency and align it with the objectives of reducing and efficiency of public spending driven by the government.

The statement highlights that these measures are part of a joint effort between the Ministry of Infrastructure and the president of Aerolíneas Argentinas, Fabian Lombardo, with the aim of moving towards a more efficient organic structure.

Company sources indicated that the reduction in the management structure seeks to optimize internal work circuits, maintaining operational safety and operational quality at all times.

According to Aviacionline, after analyzing the organizational chart and collecting statements from internal company sources, it is possible to conclude that certain directorships will disappear from the structure, while others will be absorbed, becoming management, heads or departments.
