Resident in Portugal, the artist from Rio Grande do Sul releases an authorial album in which he transits through samba, morna and reggaeton in a repertoire recorded with 62 musicians from different parts of the world. ♪ Antonio Villeroy breaks down in tears with Francis Hime. Projected in the national pop universe due to partnerships with Ana Carolina, such as the ballads Pra Rua Me Leva (2001) and Ruas de Outono (2006), the singer, songwriter and musician from Rio Grande do Sul – residing in Portugal since October 2022 – sings Choro Chorado with Francis Hime. Villeroy’s partnership with the composer from Rio de Janeiro, the unprecedented choro is one of the 13 songs that make up the authorial repertoire of the album Banquete. Album expected to be released in November 2021, the year in which the artist from São Gabriel (RS) celebrated 60 years of life and 40 of his career in music, Banquete will finally be offered by Villeroy next Friday, May 5 . In Villeroy’s conception, Banquete is an album inspired by the homonymous series of essays written around the year 380 BC by the Greek philosopher Plato (428 BC / 348 BC) and which closes the trilogy formed by the albums Gravidade do amor (2021) and Luzcendida ( 2021). In Banquete, Villeroy presents a polyglot repertoire consisting of 13 songs recorded with no less than 62 musicians residing in different cities around the world. Spanish artist born in the Canary Islands, Pedro Guerra is Villeroy’s partner and guest in the morna Del amor. Quien como yo is reggaeton with bossa nova harmony, composed by the artist with the Colombian production duo Mango & Nabalez and recorded with the Venezuelan singer Georgina. The Portuguese artist Joana Amendoeira participates in the song As Things of the World. The samba Consultório sentimental is presented in the form of a dialogue between Antonio Villeroy and the Brazilian Colombo Cruz. Another samba, Mais uma vez, is a partnership between Villeroy and Jerônimo Jardim and Gelson Oliveira, who shares the singing with Villeroy.
