Manaus (AM) – Manaus City Hall informs the schedule of visits for the animal anti-rabies vaccination campaign for this week, from Wednesday to Friday, 25th to 27th. The action teams, coordinated by the Municipal Health Department (Semsa) and carried out by the Health Center Zoonosis Control (CCZ) Doctor Carlos Durand, will travel through nine neighborhoods across the city to immunize dogs and cats against human rabies.

The manager of CCZ Manaus, Rodrigo Araújo, reiterates that visits to neighborhoods and communities always take place between 8am and 12pm, and emphasizes that city hall workers work in pairs, with a vaccinator and a registrar, both identified with the city’s uniform. campaign.
“It is important that the owner or person responsible for dogs and cats is at home to receive the immunization team, as vaccinators can only carry out the procedure with the assistance of a guardian, to contain the animal”, highlights the manager.
Rodrigo also points out that the target of the campaign is animals aged 3 months and over, which must be in good health to receive the vaccine. Proof of pet vaccination is given to owners after the procedure.
Visitations
The visitation route in the South zone includes the Flores neighborhood, passing through residential areas Parque das Nações, Parque das Palmeiras, São Judas Tadeu and Yael; the 10 de Novembro Park, covering the Águas Claras complex; and Parque das Laranjeiras.

Immunization
With the objective of immunizing 255 thousand dogs and cats, the 2023 animal anti-rabies vaccination campaign began its urban phase on 9/20, which continues until 12/6. The rural stage of the action took place from 12/6 to 30/8, in land and river communities in the rural area of Manaus.
The human rabies vaccine is mandatory for dogs and cats, who must have their protection renewed every year. During the annual campaign, CCZ Manaus promotes the intensification of immunization throughout the capital.
