Increase in value is applied by operators after one year of service, and is valid between May 1, 2023 and April 30, 2024
A National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS) announced, this Monday (12), the maximum limit of 9.63% for the readjustment in the price of individual and family health plans. The increase in value is applied by operators on the date the beneficiary completes one year of the service contract.
The new index is valid for the period between May 1 of this year and April 30, 2024, and should reach almost 8 million beneficiaries. The share represents 16% of all 50.6 million health care plan owners in the country, according to the regulatory agency.
As the change in value will be considered from May onwards, the bills for the following two months, July and August, will have, in addition to the monthly readjustment, retroactive compensation equivalent to what was not paid in the previous 60 days.
It is worth noting that the readjustment encompasses medical and hospital plans contracted from January 1999 or that were adapted to the new legislation (Law No. 9,656/1998).
The value for 2023 was validated by the Ministry of Finance and approved during a meeting with the agency’s directors this Monday morning (12).
