So much so that the video for Mil veces – recorded by the artist from Rio with the Italian star Damiano David, lead singer of the band Maneskin, and released simultaneously with the single last night, October 19th – has attracted more attention due to the sensual scenes than the music in itself. Mil Veces is a composition in Spanish, written by Anitta herself in partnership with Benjamin Falik, DJ Gabriel do Borel, Elvin Jesus Roubert Rodriguez, Jorge Luis Perez Jr., Marcio Arantes, Pedro Wider Malcher and Samantha María Camara. Anitta’s intention was to evoke the softness of funk melody – a genre propagated in the 1990s by names like MC Marcinho (1977 – 2023) and the duo Claudinho & Buchecha – to remember the times when the singer took her first steps in her career as vocalist of the dances of the Furacão 2000 team. However, there is a lack of melody in this sensual funk with a less attractive beat. Even though Anitta’s image is already consolidated in the Latin pop universe, and that is a fact, “the” music from this new business phase is missing.
